circa 1870, with fully fluted sliding 2 1/2in, barrel group retained by a screw in the underside, open iron frame marked on the right 'C. SHARPS PATENT JAN 25. 1859', the left with spring loaded chequered barrel-release, rotating firing pin to nose of the central hammer, smooth bulbous walnut birdshead grips, traces only of original finish
